The results will be announced Friday, November 7th at the Ottawa Wine and Food Show
As a judge you will be eligible for a free day-pass to the 2008 Ottawa Wine and Food Show, an invitation to our exclusive Epicurean Judges’ reception and other unique event opportunities. A limited number of these rewards will be distributed to those that have submitted judging reports. Judging rules
- This is a serious judging exercise for dedicated enthusiasts:
- study the judging report sheet [PDF file] before going out to the restaurant;
- pay special attention in the restaurant; and
- expect to spend 10 to 30 minutes completing the judging report after your restaurant visit.
- If you are not prepared to put in the effort please refrain from judging.
- Do not identify yourself as a judge or take obvious score notes at the table.
- Several people at your table may submit judging reports individually.
- Be impartial and do not judge if you have any restaurant affiliation (owners, employees, etc).
- Submit separate reports if you are judging the same restaurant more than once.
- The entire identification section must be completed.
- Unless otherwise noted, you may skip questions you do not have an answer for; these will neither count positively or negatively (i.e. not applicable). However, reports containing Food, Service or Facilities sections less than 50% completed may be ignored.
- ONLY FORMS SUBMITTED THROUGH THE WEB LINK BELOW WILL BE ACCEPTED.
- You must press the DONE button at the end of the report for it to be accepted.
Your report may be communicated (without your identity) to the restaurant so it is a way for you to guide your favourite establishments in improving themselves. No restaurant is expected to score perfectly on all questions.
Reports for the 2008 awards will be accepted until October 15th, 2008. All submitted reports are the property of the Epicurean Awards. The Epicurean Awards reserve the right to disregard judging forms that in their judgement appear biased or inconsistent. The Epicurean Awards will compile all valid forms to classify each restaurant according to the Award Regulations. The Epicurean Awards decisions are final.
